Search for your name on Google. Everyone does it. When you search for mine you will see a voice actor of the same name dominate the results. The same voice actor who voices the popular Spongebob Squarepants.
So what’s the big deal? He definitely is more famous than I am so this should be the case. The problem is my twitter account appears about half way down the page appearing after the images, videos and a title of ‘Has Voice of Spongebob Tom Kenny died?’. Not particularly great.

It would be much better if Twitter used my profile description:
Web designer/developer, gamer and fan of all things WebKit. Creator of http://inspectelement.com and I dream in CSS.
Instead of this:
Tom Kenny (tkenny) is on Twitter. Sign up for Twitter to follow Tom Kenny ( tkenny) and get their latest updates.
Not particularly useful and I get the occasional person who thinks I’m the voice actor Tom Kenny and sends me a message on Twitter. I don’t actually mind because it means I get to have a bit of fun with the, how should I put this, less intelligent Twitter users.
It’s not Twitter or Google’s fault. One look at my Tweets you will clearly see I’m definitely not a voice actor of any kind but some people are clearly blind.
Revenge!
As you may have seen in my New Year’s Resolution 2011 post, I jokingly made a resolution to appear at the top of Google when you search for my name. I’m not going to go out of my way to achieve this, I’m just going to see if the launch of my new blog triggers an improvement. It’s just a fun little experiment.
I’m not Spongebob Squarepants. I’m Tom Kenny.
